
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injection
PRP means platelet rich plasma. In practice, some blood is taken from the person and after centrifugation for 10-15 minutes, the part rich in platelets and growth factors is obtained and injected into the relevant area. Before the application, a cream for local anesthesia is applied to the patient to ensure that the procedure is more comfortable.
For what purpose is PRP applied?
The growth factors it contains, PRP facilitates the development of healthy cells and the healing of damaged tissues. It is especially preferred for facial rejuvenation and hair regrowth. Studies have shown that it is especially successful in the treatment of androgenic alopecia, which we call male pattern hair loss. In facial applications, a decrease in wrinkles and an increase in skin elasticity and brightness are observed.
At what intervals is PRP applied?
PRP is applied in 4 to 8 sessions, depending on the person's needs, at intervals of 2 to 4 weeks. Application time varies between 15-20 minutes. More effective results are obtained when PRP treatment is combined with mesotherapy. After the cure is completed, the application can be continued for 4-8 more sessions with an interval of 2 weeks.
When do the effects of PRP start to be seen?
Since the tissue will enter a self-renewal period with PRP, its effect is not expected to be seen immediately. Effects of treatment appear after the 2nd or 3rd session.
What should be taken into consideration after application?
After the application, the person can continue his daily activities. Rarely, mild redness and small temporary bruises may occur in some patients. It is recommended that the person not take a bath on the day of the procedure and not wear make-up that day. The person should use sunscreen regularly.
To whom can PRP treatment not be applied?
PRP is not applied to those with clotting disorders, citrate allergies, autoimmune diseases, cancer patients, blood diseases, those with infection in the area to be applied, those using anticoagulating medicines, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
