Melasma is a skin disease that often presents with brown spots on the face in sun-exposed areas. In the treatment of melasma, topical products (creams), sunscreens, tranexamic acid, chemical peelings and lasers are beneficial. Combination treatments are more successful. To prevent recurrence, sun protection must be continued.
