Sun exposure
In laser treatment, we use Q-switch Nd-yag treatment and add long pulse Nd-yag treatment to the treatment protocol, if the vascular component of melasma is prominent. Since the procedure is painless, there is no need for local anesthesia. There may be some redness after the procedure. Melasma treatment is a very long-term treatment. Laser can be applied for up to 6-8 sessions. It is usually applied at 3-week intervals. We get more effective results when the treatment is combined with mesotherapy. The success rate of treatment varies from person to person. If sun protection is not taken seriously, melasma may recur in a very short time.
