Insect Bite

The most common cause of insect bites today is mosquitoes. Although the severity of the reaction to insect bites, edema, redness and itching varies from person to person, it is more severe in children.

Fly bites usually cause pink, red, itchy, edematous lesions that last for 10-15 days. Sometimes water-filled blisters may form. In bedbug bites, the lesions are generally larger and edematous. When examined with a dermatoscope during examination, we can easily see the pinhole in the middle of these lesions, which we call "picure".

In the treatment of simple insect bites, it is sufficient to relieve the itching of the bitten area, prevent infection and prevent exposure.
